Galactic News: Weekly Security Report

This report presents the latest data on the security status of the galaxy's minor factions.

Here are the latest factions to experience a lockdown:

Coalition of Ngaliba

Quator Ring

Bodb Den Advanced Network

Kappa Fornacis Industry

Zeta Aquilae Free

Social LHS 449 Partnership

Leaders of LFT 1404

Nang Ta-khian Public Co

Anali Ltd

Begovans Industry

When a faction experiences a lockdown, the security rating of the system it controls temporarily increases and the system's wealth temporarily decreases. Bounty hunting activity can shorten the lockdown period.

Here are the latest factions to experience civil unrest:

Wolf 359 Blue Travel Commodities

Kokary Holdings

Quator Ring

Alpha Centauri Gold Brotherhood

LHS 3505 Crimson Mafia

Oho Bajo Public Holdings

Revolutionary Kappa Fornacis for Equality

Aulin Focus

Ovid Defence Force

Akbakshu United

Civil unrest is the result of illegal activity. When a faction is affected by civil unrest, the standard of living in the system it controls temporarily decreases, as does the system's wealth. Combat missions and activities can bring civil unrest to an end.

Galactic News: Weekly Economic Report

This report presents the latest data on the economic health of the galaxy's minor factions.

Here are the latest factions to experience an economic boom:

Colanja Gold Power Services

Limapa Blue State Commodities

Uru Federal Interstellar

Union of Wolf 359 Labour

Cemiess Commodities

Coquim Industry

Eravate Network

G 41-14 Purple Travel Solutions

AG+21 1754 Citizen Party

HIP 8593 Empire League

Boom is usually the result of consistent trade profit and completed trade contracts. When a faction experiences a boom, the wealth of the system it controls temporarily increases and trade missions completed in the system have double the effect on influence. The faction's influence may also increase. Booms typically last until they naturally expire.

Here are the latest factions to experience an economic bust:

Brotherhood of LP 98-132

Ngaliba Blue Camorra

Lords of Ngaliba

Potriti Gold Mafia

Morgor Crimson Pirates

Keries Camorra

Aleutes Bureau

League of 36 Ursae Majoris

Mehnemine Free

Jodrell Creative Exchange

When a faction experiences a bust, the wealth of the system it controls is temporarily reduced and the faction's influence is temporarily diminished. Trade actions do not contribute to boom while a bust is active. A bust typically has to run its course before ending.

Galactic News: Weekly Expansion Report

This report presents the latest data on expansion and withdrawal among the galaxy's minor factions.

Here are the latest factions to have expanded into new systems:

Parhul Silver Electronics Hldgs

Allied Kui Xenab Regulatory State

Betel Free

League of Ross 1015

Defence Force of LHS 1122

Gliese 9106 Partners

Zhu Vedani Blue Transport Dev

New Rutujil People's Party

Haeduwong Systems

NLTT 8084 Natural Services

Expansions occur when a minor faction reaches a sufficient level of influence and there is a populated system within striking distance. Expansion is costly, so when a faction expands, the wealth and development level of the system it controls are temporarily reduced.

Here are the latest factions in withdrawal:

Eranin Peoples Party

Zugen Incorporated

Bodb Dearg Order

Confederation of Dahan

Peng Dung Jet Creative Network

Cegreeth Citizens' Forum

Bureau of Tetrian Liberty Party

Jaques

Eta Horologii Gold Vision PLC

HIP 117865 Empire Pact

Factions are considered to be in withdrawal if their level of influence within a system drops below a certain level. If the faction's influence remains low for a total of five days, the faction must leave the system entirely. If the faction manages to increase its level of influence, it remains in the system.

Galactic News: Message Received from Col 70 Sector

A weak signal from the Col 70 Sector has been detected by listening posts in both Federal and Imperial space.

The message is incomplete, but it appears to pertain to some kind of rally point. Meanwhile, Federal and Imperial intelligence services have confirmed that thousands of covert and coded messages have recently been transmitted in the vicinity of the Col 70 Sector.

"Something is going on out there," said an unidentified member of the Imperial intelligence community. "We think it could be...her."

A bounty has been issued for Commanders Salomé, Tsu Annabelle Singh and Raan Corsen, but with all three fugitives still at large, the Empire has increased the bounties to five million for Salomé and two million apiece for Singh and Corsen. An Imperial spokesperson reiterated that pilots should not attempt to communicate with these individuals, and should shoot on sight.

Imperial intelligence services have also placed a bounty on one Commander Yuri Nakamura, referred to as 'Conformist Oboe XX' in an intelligence briefing given to the media. A two- million-credit bounty has been placed on Commander Nakamura.

Galactic News: Alien Tsar Makes Statement

It has now been several months since the galaxy's superpowers commented on the mysterious spacecraft seen throughout human-inhabited space.

Some members of the galactic community have publicly wondered why the galaxy's political leaders are keeping silent, but political commentators have been quick to point out that in the absence of concrete information, it is perhaps prudent to refrain from discussion.

But it seems that, behind closed doors, the superpowers are taking the issue very seriously.

A spokesperson for the Federal Navy has announced that Admiral Aden Tanner, a seasoned military leader with over four decades of experience, has been appointed to the newly created role of Chief of Federal Security. Although the Federation has not elaborated on Admiral Tanner's precise remit, an inaugural statement from the admiral suggests he has been ordered to investigate the mysterious ships, prompting media outlets to nickname him 'the alien tsar'.

In his statement, Admiral Tanner said:

"Having reviewed all available information, we can confirm these craft are active primarily within the Pleiades Nebula and the space in and around the Maia and Merope systems. The significance of these locations – if any – has not yet been determined. We can also confirm, despite rumours to the contrary, that carrying an Unknown Artefact does not attract the attention of these vessels."

"A number of independent pilots claim to have seen evidence that these ships have attacked human vessels, but no empirical verification has been recovered. Nevertheless, I would urge the galactic community to treat these strange ships with extreme caution."

Admiral Tanner declined to answer questions from media representatives, saying only, "When we know more, you'll know more".

Galactic News: Weekly Conflict Report

This report presents the latest data on conflict among the galaxy's minor factions.

Here are the latest factions to experience a civil war:

Avan Labour Union

Eravate Life Services

Yakabugai Exchange

New 31 Aquilae Green Party

Green Party of HIP 103138

Fusang Fortune Commodities

Leesti Alliance Union

Alpha Centauri Gold Brotherhood

Leaders of BD-08 2963

Independent HIP 108971 Values Party

Civil wars occur when minor factions compete for control of major assets such as starports. When a faction is involved in a civil war, the standard of living, development level and security level in the system it controls are temporarily reduced. Combat activities can bring a civil war to an end.

Here are the latest factions to experience war:

G 41-14 Purple Travel Solutions

Kini Drug Empire

Labour of Ethgreze

Order of Ethgreze

Laedla and Co

Kokary Holdings

United LHS 3479 Green Party

Crimson State Group

LTT 377 Purple General Corp.

39 Tauri Interstellar

Wars occur when a minor faction invades a star system controlled by another minor faction. For the duration of the war, the standard of living, wealth level and security level in the disputed system are reduced. Combat activity between the two warring factions determines the outcome of the conflict. If neither faction succeeds in dominating the other, the war ends in a ceasefire.

Galactic News: Halsey's Campaign Concludes

Former Federal president Jasmina Halsey has announced that her campaign to provide relief for those at Dirichlet Orbital has been a resounding success. Hundreds of pilots supported the campaign by eliminating agitators in Yum Kamcabi and delivering supplies to the starport.

As the campaign drew to a close, Jasmina Halsey released a statement:

"This was a huge humanitarian effort on behalf of thousands of refugees caught in the crossfire of war. I cannot thank the contributing pilots enough. I know they have the gratitude of every man, woman and child at Dirichlet Orbital."

Pilots who contributed to the initiative can now collect their rewards from Dirichlet Orbital in the Yum Kamcabi system.

Community Goal: The Colonia Expansion

The Colonia Council has launched its fifth migration appeal, giving the galaxy's minor factions an opportunity to establish a permanent presence in the Colonia Nebula.

A spokesperson for the council explained the nature of the initiative:

"Once again we are asking pilots to deliver a specific commodity to Jaques Station on behalf of their chosen organisation, in order to earn a migration visa."

"At the end of the campaign, the ten factions that have made the largest contribution will earn the right to settle in one of the systems we have targeted for colonisation. A new planetary outpost will be constructed in the system for each organisation's sole use."

The campaign begins on the 6th of April 3303 and will run for four weeks. If the final target is met earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately.

Community Goal: Gandii in Chaos

Recent reports from the Gandii system indicate that conflict has erupted between the Hand Gang of Gandii, an organisation closely allied with self-styled 'pirate king' Archon Delaine, and the Gandii Justice Party.

This is not the first time the Gandii Justice Party has traded blows with the Hand Gang of Gandii, although the scale of the conflict dwarfs that of previous skirmishes.

Security forces in Gandii released the following statement:

"Our operatives have confirmed that both factions are offering privateer bonds to combat pilots who support their cause. But naturally we do not condone any course of action that could escalate, or perpetuate, this conflict."

Both the Hand Gang of Gandii and the Gandii Justice Party have set out week-long operations to overcome their rivals, which will begin on the 6th of April 3303.
