Galactic News: Weekly Security Report

This report presents the latest data on the security status of the galaxy’s minor factions.

Here are the latest factions to experience a lockdown:

Orrere Ring

HIP 22006 Purple Cartel

Chaimal Jet Public Services

Gendini Incorporated

Baedi Di Rats

Barons of Mundine

Hiralarsh First

Kagudi Allied Interstellar

Venux Freedom Party

HIP 24912 Crimson General Hldgs

When a faction experiences a lockdown, the security rating of the system it controls temporarily increases and the system’s wealth temporarily decreases. Bounty hunting activity can shorten the lockdown period.

Here are the latest factions to experience civil unrest:

Independents of LHS 3262

Alliance of HIP 13269

Crimson Major Incorporated

Labour of 64 Arietis

Social Holler Green Party

Saontiana and Co

Integrated HIP 111657

Values Party of Shenggan

HR 3007 Coordinated

LP 726-6 Partners

Civil unrest is the result of illegal activity. When a faction is affected by civil unrest, the standard of living in the system it controls temporarily decreases, as does the system’s wealth. Combat missions and activities can bring civil unrest to an end.

Galactic News: Starport Status Update

This report presents the latest data on starports experiencing technical issues as a result of Unknown-Artefact related interference.

The following starports are currently closed:

Onnes Gateway, LFT 37

Heng Ring, Malanges

Meanwhile, the following starports are on the brink of closure:

Gordon Plant, Tollan

Reiter City, Oppi

Galactic News: Weekly Economic Report

This report presents the latest data on the economic health of the galaxy’s minor factions.

Here are the latest factions to experience an economic boom:

Brotherhood of LP 98-132

Liberty Party of Zeessze

Union of Wolf 359 Labour

GCRV 4654 State Interstellar

Opila Ltd

Crimson State Group

Brani Federal Holdings

Allied FK5 2550 Autocracy

Ololos Drug Empire

Bureau of HIP 1914 Focus

Boom is usually the result of consistent trade profit and completed trade contracts. When a faction experiences a boom, the wealth of the system it controls temporarily increases and trade missions completed in the system have double the effect on influence. The faction’s influence may also increase. Booms typically last until they naturally expire.

Here are the latest factions to experience an economic bust:

WISE 0855-0714 Gold Gang

Apoyota Domain

Quator Ring

Nationalists of Aulin

Leaders of Santal

Aditi Crimson Energy Inc

LTT 18486 Pirates

Partnership of Alpha Centauri

The Order of Justice

Wat Yu Resistance

When a faction experiences a bust, the wealth of the system it controls is temporarily reduced and the faction’s influence is temporarily diminished. Trade actions do not contribute to boom while a bust is active. A bust typically has to run its course before ending.

Galactic News: Weekly Expansion Report

This report presents the latest data on expansion and withdrawal among the galaxy's minor factions.

Here are the latest factions to have expanded into new systems:

Chicoana Silver Travel Corp.

HIP 96289 Blue Major Inc

110 Herculis Purple Natural PLC

Annarr Dynamic Corp.

Tphene Collective

Revolutionary Eluskapu Partnership

People's Tutumu Confederacy

Kwarandji Comms Industries

Lunguni First

Bletii Inc

Expansions occur when a minor faction reaches a sufficient level of influence and there is a populated system within striking distance. Expansion is costly, so when a faction expands, the wealth and development level of the system it controls are temporarily reduced.

Here are the latest factions in withdrawal:

Democrats of BD-02 4304

Durius Dominion

HR 8170 Brotherhood

Bodb Dearg Order

Yenistani Guardians of Tradition

Brotherhood of Caerete

Gilyadar Front

Velnians Gold Transport Holdings

Marquis du Ugrivaci

Chimasates Blue United Org

Factions are considered to be in withdrawal if their level of influence within a system drops below a certain level. If the faction's influence remains low for a total of five days, the faction must leave the system entirely. If the faction manages to increase its level of influence, it remains in the system.

Galactic News: The Thargoid Situation

Although the first hints of the Thargoid presence began with the discovery of Unknown Artefacts in 3301, the current chapter in the Thargoid story started last year with the discovery of alien shipwrecks in the Pleiades Nebula. A few months later, in January 3303, the first interdiction from a Thargoid ship was reported.

In May, accounts surfaced of attacks in the Maia system against Federal vessels. Eyewitnesses claimed to have seen Thargoid ships at the sites, but the Federation refused to comment on the possibility of Thargoid involvement.

A key discovery was made a few weeks later, when massive Thargoid structures were found in a number of systems. Several of these structures were discovered to contain functional Thargoid technology.

With events unfolding at such a rapid pace, the superpowers have struggled to formulate appropriate responses. But the creation of Aegis, a joint-superpower initiative designed to coordinate research into the Thargoids, suggests that the galaxy’s leaders are now taking steps to address the situation.

Professor Cora Shaw, director of the Palin Institute, offered the following assessment:

“We are faced with a number of pressing questions. Why have the Thargoids entered human space? Can we communicate with them? Are they hostile? Hopefully Aegis can provide us with some answers.”

Meanwhile, in an article for the Imperial Herald, journalist Kelvin Masters gave a more frank analysis:

“The barnacles seem to indicate that the Thargoids were in Maia and Merope long before we were. For all we know, humanity has expanded into what the Thargoids see as their territory. I have no interest in scaremongering, but my belief is that a Thargoid attack could be imminent – their behaviour certainly seems to suggest they are probing us for weaknesses.”

Galactic News: Weekly Conflict Report

This report presents the latest data on conflict among the galaxy’s minor factions.

Here are the latest factions to experience a civil war:

Coquim Industry

Zelano Systems

Junga Interstellar

Chamunda Crimson Gang

Kini Drug Empire

LHS 3479 Interstellar

AG+21 1754 Citizen Party

Liberty Party of LP 751-1

Liaedin Mafia

Revolutionary Party of Nuenets

Civil wars occur when minor factions compete for control of major assets such as starports. When a faction is involved in a civil war, the standard of living, development level and security level in the system it controls are temporarily reduced. Combat activities can bring a civil war to an end.

Here are the latest factions to experience war:

Order of Ethgreze

Kokary Liberals

Liberals of Delta Pavonis

LHS 1387 Jet Mob

Blue Dynamic Group

Njikan Jet Dynamic Industry

BD+07 4267 Gold General PLC

LHS 3384 Progressive Party

Branglal PLC

New 31 Aquilae Green Party

Wars occur when a minor faction invades a star system controlled by another minor faction. For the duration of the war, the standard of living, wealth level and security level in the disputed system are reduced. Combat activity between the two warring factions determines the outcome of the conflict. If neither faction succeeds in dominating the other, the war ends in a ceasefire.

Galactic News: Order Restored in Kaal

The Kuk Silver Fortune Company has announced that its campaign to clear the Kaal system of agitators has been a success. Hundreds of pilots responded to the appeal, taking to their ships to eliminate the criminals operating in the system.

Authorities in the Kaal system have extended their gratitude to those who participated in the operation.

Pilots who contributed to the initiative can now collect their rewards from Vercors Station in the Kaal system.

Galactic News: Imperial Appeal Concludes

Secoya Emperor's Grace has announced that its appeal for luxury goods has been enthusiastically received by the galactic community. Hundreds of pilots responded to the appeal by delivering commodities to Joy Port for this year’s Sigma Summit, a conference attended by some of the Empire’s most powerful individuals.

Censure of the event failed to deter traders or intimidate this year’s guest of honour, Imperial Senator Zemina Torval, who responded to criticism by saying simply “The Summit is an institution.”

Pilots who contributed to the initiative can now collect their rewards from Joy Port in the Secoya system.

Community Goal: The Path to Colonia

The Kamadhenu Chapterhouse of Inquisition has announced plans to establish a series of starports between the core systems and Colonia to make the daunting voyage a little easier. A total of three starports have been planned, which the Chapterhouse hopes will expedite the creation of a freight and passenger service known as the Blue Star Line.

The Chapterhouse has placed an open order for gold, robotics and auto-fabricators for the first of these starports, and has promised to reward pilots who deliver these commodities to Shajn Market in the Kamadhenu system. System authorities have also pledged to issue generous rewards for Chapterhouse-issued bounties, to ensure safe delivery of goods to the starport.

Announcing the campaign, Governor Shelby Ortega said:

“The growth of Colonia has been astounding, but its continued success depends on developing more substantive infrastructure. Having received the blessing of the Colonia Council, the Chapterhouse of Inquisition intends to realise a vision of trans-galactic commerce that will benefit all of humanity.”

The first phase of the campaign begins on the 24th of August 3303. The second phase begins on the 31st of August, and the final phase begins on the 7th of September. All three phases will run for one week unless targets are met earlier than planned.

Galactic News: Kpelidoog Empire Assembly Campaign Concludes

A spokesperson for the Kpelidoog Empire Assembly has announced that its plan to build a new Wells-class Carrier has received the wholehearted support of the galactic community. Hundreds of pilots took to their ships to deliver construction materials to Hipparchus Terminal, the organisation’s base of operations.

As the campaign drew to a close, a spokesperson for the Kpelidoog Empire Assembly released a statement:

“We are immeasurably grateful to all those who supported this initiative. Having met our targets, we hope to start work on the new ship soon.”

Pilots who contributed to the initiative can now collect their rewards from Hipparchus Terminal in the Kpelidoog system.
