Galactic News: Weekly Security Report
22 Nov 3302
This report presents the latest data on the security status of the galaxy's minor factions.
Here are the latest factions to experience a lockdown:
Brotherhood of LP 98-132
Emperor's Will
Rajgonta for Equality
Leaders of LFT 1404
Ovid Defence Force
Sifjar Group
People's Cegreeth Values Party
Lei Mati Blue Allied Commodities
Quince Jet Family
Monarchy of Elbiones
When a faction experiences a lockdown, the security rating of the system it controls temporarily increases and the system's wealth temporarily decreases. Bounty hunting activity can shorten the lockdown period.
Here are the latest factions to experience civil unrest:
Brotherhood of LP 98-132
Wolf 359 Blue Travel Commodities
WISE 0855-0714 Gold Gang
Confederation of LPM 26
Oho Bajo Public Holdings
Segoveduwa Empire Party
Ross 775 for Equality
Xuanduna Silver Allied PLC
Social LP 510-10 Future
Lei Mati Patron's Principles
Civil unrest is the result of illegal activity. When a faction is affected by civil unrest, the standard of living in the system it controls temporarily decreases, as does the system's wealth. Combat missions and activities can bring civil unrest to an end
Galactic News: Weekly Economic Report
21 Nov 3302
This report presents the latest data on the economic health of the galaxy's minor factions.
Here are the latest factions to experience an economic boom:
Colanja Gold Power Services
Social Zaragas Independents
Ngaliba Blue Camorra
LTT 377 Purple General Corp.
G 41-14 Purple Travel Solutions
Kokary Holdings
Ruchbah Industry
Zeessze Clan
Eravate Network
Liberty Party of Zeessze
Boom is usually the result of consistent trade profit and completed trade contracts. When a faction experiences a boom, the wealth of the system it controls temporarily increases and trade missions completed in the system have double the effect on influence. The faction's influence may also increase. Booms typically last until they naturally expire.
Here are the latest factions to experience an economic bust:
i Bootis Central Limited
HIP 1114 Progressive Party
HIP 111755 Gold Cartel
Flesk Transport Organisation
HIP 118311 Posse
LTT 537 Future
Drug Empire of Caeresi
Lambda-1 Tucanae Progressive Party
Velnambang Rats
Salibi Mafia
When a faction experiences a bust, the wealth of the system it controls is temporarily reduced and the faction's influence is temporarily diminished. Trade actions do not contribute to boom while a bust is active. A bust typically has to run its course before ending.
Galactic News: MetaDrive Audit Complete
19 Nov 3302
The independent audit of defunct technology company MetaDrive Inc. has now reached an end and, other than a few minor items, the acquisition of all remaining assets has been completed.
One such item is the Imperial Eagle of the company's late chairman Femi Dakarai, which was owned by MetaDrive. In a strange turn of events, the ship was stolen by former MetaDrive employee Raan Corsen, who disappeared shortly after the audit began.
A number of files relating to Dakarai's affairs are also believed to be missing. A junior member of the audit team reported that a series of so-called 'exodus documents' could not be located. The employee was unceremoniously removed from the audit team shortly afterwards.
A spokesperson for BigSix, the auditor, provided a statement:
"The audit of MetaDrive is now complete, and contrary to previous misleading reports, we have all the documentation we need. It transpires the Eagle spacecraft stolen by Raan Corsen crashed somewhere in the Alioth system while fleeing security forces. The vessel was fully insured, so BigSix is not unduly concerned by its loss."
Galactic News: Weekly Expansion Report
19 Nov 3302
This report presents the latest data on expansion and withdrawal among the galaxy's minor factions.
Here are the latest factions to have expanded into new systems:
Official Darkates Freedom
Sol Workers' Party
Labour of Geras
Modgud Commodities
Ambivas Power Partners
HIP 114530 Guardians
Partnership of Nitikaba
Betel Free
Sui Xenates Indie Union
Jaques
Expansions occur when a minor faction reaches a sufficient level of influence and there is a populated system within striking distance. Expansion is costly, so when a faction expands, the wealth and development level of the system it controls are temporarily reduced.
Here are the latest factions in withdrawal:
Wolf 359 Blue Travel Commodities
Labour of Ethgreze
Independents of Mildeptu
The Pilots Federation
Zugen Incorporated
LP 811-17 Gold Energy Partners
HR 8170 Brotherhood
Yhele Guardians of Tradition
HIP 28987 Empire Pact
Codorain Network
Factions are considered to be in withdrawal if their level of influence within a system drops below a certain level. If the faction's influence remains low for a total of five days, the faction must leave the system entirely. If the faction manages to increase its level of influence, it remains in the system.
Galactic News: Construction Convoy Assembled
18 Nov 3302
A large convoy of heavy construction ships and associated support vessels has been assembled by Wreaken Construction in the Zearla system.
Wreaken does not have an exclusive contract with any of the galaxy's superpowers, and there has therefore been significant speculation over the purpose of the convoy.
Requests for information have been met with blank rebuttals, and recent press statements from Wreaken make no mention of the convoy. Long-range reconnaissance has revealed a well-defended operation, and approaches are greeted with patrol ships and warning shots.
Meanwhile, shares in Wreaken have gone up by five per cent as speculation grips the financial markets. Some commentators believe this is directly linked to Admiral Denton Patreus's recent comments concerning the London Treaty.
Galactic News: Weekly Conflict Report
18 Nov 3302
This report presents the latest data on conflict among the galaxy's minor factions.
Here are the latest factions to experience a civil war:
Uru Federal Interstellar
Avan Labour Union
New 31 Aquilae Green Party
AG+21 1754 Citizen Party
HIP 19773 Shared
Bubii Rats
HIP 5712 State Corp.
Ruchbah Industry
Fusang Fortune Commodities
Laedla and Co
Civil wars occur when minor factions compete for control of major assets such as starports. When a faction is involved in a civil war, the standard of living, development level and security level in the system it controls are temporarily reduced. Combat activities can bring a civil war to an end.
Here are the latest factions to experience war:
Colanja Gold Power Services
Limapa Blue State Commodities
Coalition of Ngaliba
Green Party of HIP 103138
Kini Drug Empire
Kokary Liberals
United LHS 3479 Green Party
Ross 754 Labour
People's Changthini for Equality
Alioth Pro-Alliance Group
Wars occur when a minor faction invades a star system controlled by another minor faction. For the duration of the war, the standard of living, wealth level and security level in the disputed system are reduced. Combat activity between the two warring factions determines the outcome of the conflict. If neither faction succeeds in dominating the other, the war ends in a ceasefire.
Galactic News: Appeal for Resources Ends
17 Nov 3302
Dr Arkady Cole, chief research scientist for the Zosi Major Corporation, has announced that the organisation's request for resources has been warmly received by the galactic community.
The organisation has confirmed that it has received sufficient quantities of thermic alloys, chemical manipulators and industrial firmware to proceed with its proposed research project, the exact nature of which has not been publicly disclosed.
In a characteristically succinct statement, Dr Cole thanked those who had responded to the request:
"Many resources received. Everyone get their money. Now go away and leave me alone! Very busy. Much work to do."
Pilots who contributed to the campaign can now collect their rewards from Citi Enterprise in the Zosi system.
Galactic News: Order Temporarily Restored in Maia
17 Nov 3302
The Pleiades Resource Enterprise has announced that its operation to weaken Maia's criminal network has been a success. Hundreds of pilots responded to the organisation's appeal for support, taking to their ships to eliminate the agitators operating in the system.
The victory may give the Pleiades Resource Enterprise the time it needs to recover its strength, and prepare for the next phase in its fight against the Ant Hill Mob.
Pilots who contributed to the operation can collect their rewards from Obsidian Orbital.
Galactic News: Ant Hill Mob Wins
17 Nov 3302
Media outlets in Maia have reported that the Pleiades Resource Enterprise has once again emerged victorious from a conflict with the Ant Hill Mob. The battle, instigated by the Ant Hill Mob, was designed to weaken the Enterprise's position in Maia.
Hundreds of independent pilots supported the campaign by targeting Pleiades Resource Enterprise fighters and delivering battle weapons to system security forces. But ultimately it was not enough to defeat the PRE.
A spokesperson for the Pleiades Resource Enterprise released a brief statement:
"Clearly, the galactic community supports our position in Maia. The Ant Hill Mob needs to accept that the Pleiades Resource Enterprise is here to stay. We're not going anywhere."
Pilots who contributed to the initiative are now free to collect their rewards from Obsidian Orbital in the Maia system.
Community Goal: Competing Appeals for Exploration Data
17 Nov 3302
The Federal astrocartography department has issued a public request for exploration data. Mark Devene, head of the department, elaborated on the nature of the appeal:
"We are looking for data from three specific zones in order to verify certain hypotheses. We want high-quality information on system configurations, planet types, spectral classes and compositions."
"We are looking at the following coordinates: PLAA AEC IZ-N C20-1, PRU AESCS DL-W C15-37 and EAFOTS EU-R C4-1. Explorers might be more familiar with the colloquial names for these areas – Hawkin's Gap, the Conflux and the Formidine Rift. Pilots should travel to one of these locations and investigate out to a radius of 200 light years."
The Tau Ceti Crimson Legal Solutions has volunteered to coordinate the Federal operation. Meanwhile, mysterious organisation The Children of Raxxla has issued an identical request, claiming the data will be used to prove the innocence of the group's leader, Kahina Loren.
Both campaigns begin on the 17th of November 3302 and will run for two weeks.
