Powerplay: Incoming Update
14 Jun 3302
At 7.00 am tomorrow morning (GMT), the monitoring of powers' activities will go offline for a short period while the latest data is assembled. Pilots who operate for one of the powers should deliver any cargo or vouchers before this time to ensure their activities are registered.
Galactic News: Weekly Security Report
13 Jun 3302
This report presents the latest data on the security status of the galaxy's minor factions.
Here are the latest factions to experience a lockdown:
Revolutionary Wolf 865 Revolutionary Party
Tamba League
Ross 318 Energy Co
Purple Vision Services
Volungu Public Company
Onyayp Collective
Social Lalande 2682 Alliance
Ross 41 Confederacy
Lalande 28607 Syndicate
Neritus Law Party
When a faction experiences a lockdown, the security rating of the system it controls temporarily increases and the system's wealth temporarily decreases. Bounty hunting activity can shorten the lockdown period.
Here are the latest factions to experience civil unrest:
Avalon Organisation
Pomeche Electronics Corporation
Alliance of BD+47 2112
Ekuru Silver Allied Industry
Amphisatsu Creative Commodities
Eotienses Silver Universal PLC
Wogama Dynamic Co
Allied T'u Tu Focus
Movement for Uzumeru Partnership
Yawa Commodities
Civil unrest is the result of illegal activity. When a faction is affected by civil unrest, the standard of living in the system it controls temporarily decreases, as does the system's wealth. Combat missions and activities can bring civil unrest to an end.
Galactic News: Where is Jaques Station?
12 Jun 3302
Jaques Station hit the headlines two weeks ago when it was reported that the galaxy's most famous travelling starport had disappeared. Jaques, the starport's owner and operator, had announced plans to jump from Gliese 1269 to Beagle Point. But when contact with the starport was lost, many feared the ambitious enterprise had resulted in disaster.
Fortunately it seems the starport is still intact, even if its whereabouts remain unknown. Several outposts throughout inhabited space have reported receiving messages over the past 24 hours, suggesting that the cyborg and his travelling starport survived the attempted journey to Beagle Point.
Unfortunately the messages are extremely fragmentary, giving no clear indication of where the starport might be. One of the more complete messages reads as follows:
"...witch-space...drive engines... station infrastructure intact but...we are..."
We will continue to bring you up-to-the-minute reports on this issue.
Galactic News: Weekly Economic Report
12 Jun 3302
This report presents the latest data on the economic health of the galaxy's minor factions.
Here are the latest factions to experience an economic boom:
Luyten's Star Co
Workers of Tau-1 Gruis Democrats
League of HIP 3142
Labour of LHS 3531
Dilga Vision Group
LHS 3749 Group
Bactrib Patrons of Law
Futhorc Patron's Principles
Naunei Limited Independent
LP 320-359 League
Boom is usually the result of consistent trade profit and completed trade contracts. When a faction experiences a boom, the wealth of the system it controls temporarily increases and trade missions completed in the system have double the effect on influence. The faction's influence may also increase. Booms typically last until they naturally expire.
Here are the latest factions to experience an economic bust:
Sowiio Emperor's Grace
Cubeo Silver Advanced Industries
CD-66 2585 Purple Cartel
HIP 50661 Corporation
Jet Energy Industries
Piorimudjar Gold Boys
Integrated Gundiae
Sanda Confederacy
People's Party of LTT 1345
Kausalya Boys
When a faction experiences a bust, the wealth of the system it controls is temporarily reduced and the faction's influence is temporarily diminished. Trade actions do not contribute to boom while a bust is active. A bust typically has to run its course before ending.
Freelance Report: Old Worlds Zero-Gravity Rally
09 Jun 3302
Starport personnel across the Lave cluster are preparing for an increase in traffic, as pilots from the Buckyball Racing Club and the Elite Racers compete in their latest event. The 'Old World Hustle', which combines point-to-point rallies and zero-gravity aerobatics, runs from the 11th to the 19th of June 3302.
Despite being held in low esteem by authorities, both the Buckyball Racing Club and the Elite Racers are privately acknowledged as providing a boost to commerce in systems where their events take place, particularly by the proprietors of station bars and the purveyors of outfitting services.
"Insurance claims are good for business," said a salesman at the Lave Station shipyard, before hastily adding "although of course a pilot's safety is our primary concern."

Galactic News: Weekly Conflict Report
09 Jun 3302
This report presents the latest data on conflict among the galaxy's minor factions.

People's Huano Future
Huano Empire League
ADS 16553 Silver Pirates
CD-52 187 Empire Consulate
Society of Sosolingati
Maiducane Commodities
United GR 316 Alliance
Civil wars occur when minor factions compete for control of major assets such as starports. When a faction is involved in a civil war, the standard of living, development level and security level in the system it controls are temporarily reduced. Combat activities can bring a civil war to an end.
Here are the latest factions to experience war:
Future of Te Uira
Zhao Jet Transport Company
Elite Rebel Force
Ahaut Front
Wolf 485a Fortune Co
Lencali Limited Federation
LHS 3343 Crimson Power PLC
SSL Interstellar PLC
Twilight of the Gods Yarrite Corp.
Olorun Republic Party
Wars occur when a minor faction invades a star system controlled by another minor faction. For the duration of the war, the standard of living, wealth level and security level in the disputed system are reduced. Combat activity between the two warring factions determines the outcome of the conflict. If neither faction succeeds in dominating the other, the war ends in a ceasefire.
Community Goal: Wildcard Competition Continues
08 Jun 3302
The first stage of the Dangerous Games 'Wildcard' competition is over, and the second is about to begin. For this heat, pilots have been asked to head to the Bjorti system and deploy their hardpoints for a bounty-hunting contest. The faction that accumulates the most bounty vouchers during the week-long event will be declared the winner.
The Dangerous Games Wildcard competition will run for a total of three weeks, and the victor will go on to vie for the right to be recognised as an official power.
The event begins on the 9th of June 3302 and will run for one week.
Galactic News: EG Pilots Dominate First Wildcard Event
08 Jun 3302
Last week saw the start of a three-week campaign to determine which of the galaxy's minor factions would earn a place in the forthcoming Dangerous Games. The victor of the so-called 'Wildcard' competition will go on to vie for the right to be recognised as an official power.
The first Wildcard event required pilots to fire up their mining lasers and gather gold for their chosen faction. Predictably, the week-long event saw no small measure of conflict, with pilots doing everything they could to disrupt their rivals' operations.
The final tally indicates that the EG Pilots received the largest quantity of gold. But whether or not this will result in ultimate victory remains to be seen, as it will not be clear which faction has received the most support until the end of the three-week campaign.
Galactic News: Order Restored to Mehet
08 Jun 3302
Mehet Ltd has announced that its campaign to clear the Mehet system of agitators has been a success. Hundreds of pilots responded to the appeal, taking to their ships to eliminate the criminals operating in the system.
Following the success of the operation, Mehet Ltd released a brief statement to the media:
"Thanks to the brave Commanders of the Pilots Federation, Mehet is now free from the depredations of criminals and agitators. On behalf of the people of Mehet, we would like to express our gratitude."
Rewards for those who contributed to the initiative are now available for collection at Schwann Dock.
Community Goal: Narcotics for the Crom Silver Boys
08 Jun 3302
Those who have explored the trade routes of Wolf 1301 will undoubtedly recall 'wolf fesh', the popular psychoactive drug that was once produced in the system. Although originally legal, when control of the system changed last year the drug was banned, and production was immediately halted. Wolf fesh disappeared from galactic trade routes almost overnight.
But now it seems that the drug is about to make a return. Notorious crime syndicate the Crom Silver Boys, known for targeting traders and miners from their secret base in the Crom system, claim to have procured the secret recipe for the drug, and have announced plans to produce a new variant.
The organisation has already stockpiled the necessary common ingredients, but to begin production it needs a quantity of rarer elements found only in other narcotics. The Crom Silver Boys have therefore placed an open order for the requisite intoxicants, and have promised to reward those who deliver the much-needed goods to Walheim Enterprise in the Herthe system.
Most of the requested commodities are illegal in Herthe, and the system's security forces have vowed to interdict and search any suspicious vessels. The Crom Silver Boys have advised pilots participating in the operation to exercise caution.
The campaign begins on the 9th of June 3302 and will run for one week. If the final target is met earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately.
