Galactic News: Weekly Security Report

This report presents the latest data on the security status of the galaxy's minor factions.

Here are the latest factions to experience a lockdown:

HIP 43358 Central Corp

Shona Nationalists

Birpinovit Dynasty

Crimson General PLC

Ross 986 Progressive Party

Freedom Party of Ba Pin

People's V775 Herculi Revolutionary Party

Kremainn Blue Brotherhood

Brotherhood of Daiburi

Calarum Co-op

When a faction experiences a lockdown, the security rating of the system it controls temporarily increases and the system's wealth temporarily decreases. Bounty hunting activity can shorten the lockdown period.

Here are the latest factions to experience civil unrest:

Revolutionary Zeta Aquilae Republic Party

Thrigpa Solutions

Ladabalbasa Silver Creative and Co

LHS 224 Blue Crew

Wolf 363 Blue Partnership

Nurundere Gold Mob

LFT 168 Electronics Limited

Sawahinn Nationalists

Aristocrats of Polochans

League of Harm First

Civil unrest is the result of illegal activity. When a faction is affected by civil unrest, the standard of living in the system it controls temporarily decreases, as does the system's wealth. Combat missions and activities can bring civil unrest to an end.

Freelance Report: Canonn at Full Tilt

Following a recent statement from Admiral Maxton Price of the Federal Navy concerning Farragut Battle Cruisers in the Merope system, Dr Arcanonn of the Canonn Interstellar Research Group has responded:

"Admiral Price's authoritative assurance is most welcome. Canonneers and other researchers can hereafter refer to his words as we learn more about the barnacles, and why the Unknown Artefacts point towards Merope."

Dr Arcanonn also confirmed that barnacle sites had been located in the Witch Head Nebula, while Canonn vessels continue to search for barnacles in other nebulae.

Concluding his statement, Dr Arcanonn commented on the elusive Unknown Probes – believed to be related to Unknown Artefacts.

"We are now examining an Unknown Probe secured by my esteemed colleague Professor Monkey D Luffy. Early research indicates that it orients itself towards Merope 5 C, a site of barnacle proliferation. Obviously, Merope remains under intense scrutiny."

Galactic News: Federal Forces Triumphant

Following three days of conflict, the Independents of Daramo have confirmed that the Federation has successfully resisted the Imperial offensive in the Daramo system. In the wake of the victory, Admiral Yorke of the Federal Navy extended his gratitude to the many pilots who supported the Federation, and added:

"Hopefully this episode will remind our enemies that they cannot simply take whatever they want. It was not so long ago that the Empire was nothing more than a gaggle of clueless colonists on Achenar 6d, while the Federation controlled over a thousand systems. The Empire should remember where it came from."

Territorial disputes between the Federation and the Empire are not uncommon, but the strength of Admiral Yorke's words, and in particular the use of "enemies", will no doubt trigger considerable debate on the current state Federation-Empire relationship.

Galactic News: Weekly Economic Report

This report presents the latest data on the economic health of the galaxy's minor factions.

Here are the latest factions to experience an economic boom:

Federal Congress

Progressive Party of Abukunin

Natural LP 811-17 Conservatives

HIP 117865 Flag

Freedom Party of Walka

Hu Jona Natural Systems

Liberty Party of Han Xiang

Jera Social Democrats

HIP 116460 Patrons of Law

LTT 700 Front

Boom is usually the result of consistent trade profit and completed trade contracts. When a faction experiences a boom, the wealth of the system it controls temporarily increases and trade missions completed in the system have double the effect on influence. The faction's influence may also increase. Booms typically last until they naturally expire.

Here are the latest factions to experience an economic bust:

Lalande 18115 Natural Network

51 Aquilae Gold Creative Systems

Coringha Galactic Industry

Coastakal Co-op

Brani Federal Holdings

Gang of LHS 512

Epsilon Indi Party

Dominion of Sowiio

Jet Bridge Inc

Haritana Dynamic Group

When a faction experiences a bust, the wealth of the system it controls is temporarily reduced and the faction's influence is temporarily diminished. Trade actions do not contribute to boom while a bust is active. A bust typically has to run its course before ending.

Galactic News: Federation Issues Rebuttal

Admiral Maxton Price of the Federal Navy has rejected claims that Farragut Battle Cruisers stationed in Merope have made unprovoked attacks on independent pilots operating in the area.

In a statement, Admiral Price argued that the allegations were baseless, and that the Federation had not initiated any conflict:

"It is true that Federal vessels have exchanged fire with independent pilots, but these exchanges were not instigated by the Federation, and any claims to the contrary are false."

Admiral Price was asked to respond to calls from Dr Arcanonn of the Canonn Interstellar Research Group for a public inquiry into the Federal presence in Merope. He responded:

"The presence of Federal ships in Merope is entirely legitimate. If our ships are fired upon, they will respond in kind, but I can assure you that the Federation does not have a military agenda in Merope."

Galactic News: Weekly Expansion Report

This report presents the latest data on expansion and withdrawal among the galaxy's minor factions.

Here are the latest factions to have expanded into new systems:

Gliese 58 Inc

Varangian Syndicate

Chontaiko Purple Central Prtnrs

Values Party of 16 Persei

LTT 1798 Incorporated

Parana United Commodities

Dedalo Corp. Interstellar

Independent Kongi League

League of Byeri First

Krivisci Partners

Expansions occur when a minor faction reaches a sufficient level of influence and there is a populated system within striking distance. Expansion is costly, so when a faction expands, the wealth and development level of the system it controls are temporarily reduced.

Here are the latest factions in withdrawal:

EG Union

Magn Allied Interstellar

Social Shotep Worker's Party

Narasimha Silver Raiders

Bureau of Ross 209

Green Party of Pataheimr

United 6 Andromedae Democrats

People's Blati Coalition

Pixel Bandits Security Force

Liberals of Wolf 871

Factions are considered to be in withdrawal if their level of influence within a system drops below a certain level. If the faction's influence remains low for a total of five days, the faction must leave the system entirely. If the faction manages to increase its level of influence, it remains in the system.

Galactic News: Weekly Conflict Report

This report presents the latest data on conflict among the galaxy's minor factions.

Here are the latest factions to experience a civil war:

Aditi Jet Mafia

Diaguandri Interstellar

LHS 246 Federal Holdings

LTT 9846 Limited

Sudii Commodities

LHS 449 Central Interstellar

Fan Cechehe Worker's Party

Mafia of Chacobog

Cartel of Diaguandri

AG+21 1754 Travel PLC

Civil wars occur when minor factions compete for control of major assets such as starports. When a faction is involved in a civil war, the standard of living, development level and security level in the system it controls are temporarily reduced. Combat activities can bring a civil war to an end.

Here are the latest factions to experience war:

Alliance of Rusasaei

BD+47 2112 Holdings

CE Bootis Purple Dragons

Alrai Company

Gliese 58 Inc

Confederacy of Furbaide

Baxbakaeris Interstellar

Abazi Blue Clan

Dhrutin Purple Cartel

Varangian Syndicate

Wars occur when a minor faction invades a star system controlled by another minor faction. For the duration of the war, the standard of living, wealth level and security level in the disputed system are reduced. Combat activity between the two warring factions determines the outcome of the conflict. If neither faction succeeds in dominating the other, the war ends in a ceasefire.

Galactic News: EG Pilots win Wildcard Competition

The third and final heat of the Dangerous Games Wildcard competition is over.

For this stage of the competition, pilots were asked to fill their cargo holds with conductive fabrics and deliver them to Tartarus Point for their chosen faction. Hundreds of pilots participated in the event, eager to help their faction secure a place in the Dangerous Games. But ultimately it was the EG Pilots that accumulated the most conductive fabrics and once again claimed victory.

With the competition over, the results of each heat have been reviewed to determine which faction received the most support over the course of the campaign. The final result indicates that the winner of the Dangerous Games Wildcard competition is, perhaps unsurprisingly, the EG Pilots.

The EG Pilots will now enter the Dangerous Games, competing with the Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corps, the Border Coalition, GalCop, the Interstellar Communist Union and the Social Eleu Progressive Party for the right to join the ranks of the galaxy's most powerful.

Trinity Avon, a reporter for The Sovereign, commented on what has proved to be a dramatic competition:

"Each faction has enjoyed its share of success, but ultimately there could be only one winner. The EG Pilots have proved they can attract considerable support, but does that mean they can go toe to toe with the likes of the Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corps and the Social Eleu Progressive Party? Only time will tell."

The Dangerous Games will begin on the 30th of June.

Galactic News: Utopian Campaign Concludes

A spokesperson for the technologically progressive enclave Utopia confirmed that its appeal for exploration data has reached a successful conclusion. In a statement, the spokesperson confirmed that the campaign received the enthusiastic support of the galactic community, resulting in large quantities of fresh exploration data.

Simguru Pranav Antal, leader of Utopia and architect of the initiative, released a brief statement to the media:

"My thanks go to those who took the time to support this campaign. The data you have provided will now be analysed, and with luck it will tell us more about what happens to the many spacefarers who disappear every day, every week, every year. How many are abducted? How many run out of fuel, far from home? And how many simply disappear without explanation? Your data will help us answer these questions."

Pilots who contributed to the initiative are now free to collect their rewards from Terry Port in the Garoku system.

Community Goal: The Battle of Daramo

The Daramo system is currently under Federal control, but recent reports indicate that both Imperial and independent forces – the latter under the rule of Pirate King Archon Delaine – are attempting to wrest power from the Federation.

The Federation is evidently not about to capitulate. In a statement, Admiral Yorke of the Federal Navy said:

"The Daramo system is of considerable strategic value to the Federation, and we will not surrender it without a fight. We have issued an emergency call to all Federation-aligned pilots – you are needed in Daramo!"

The Empire, predictably, has responded in kind. Captain Danvers of the Imperial Navy said:

"In the interest of the wellbeing of the citizens of Daramo, it is imperative that Imperial law be instated as soon as possible. If the Federation is allowed to retain control of the system, the people of Daramo will be sure to suffer."

The Independents of Daramo have stepped in to coordinate operations on behalf of the Federation, while the Vaka Citizens of Tradition have been authorised to oversee the Imperial campaign. Both factions have set out week-long operations to take control of the system, which will begin on the 23rd of June 3302.
